“Sites of the Civil Rights Movement” was the 2:30 p.m. panel of “Documented Rights: A Symposium on the Legacy of the Civil Rights Movement,” held on June 13, 2009, as part of the nationwide celebration of the National Archives and Records Administration’s 75th Anniversary. The National Archives at Atlanta hosted the event in partnership with the Center for Civil and Human Rights Partnership, the Georgia Humanities Council, and The Foundation for the National Archives.

Civil rights heritage site directors talked about their sites and what is available there for visitors. They discussed the importance of seeing firsthand the places where historic events occurred and the wealth of experiences available from their institutions as well as the changes taking place.
