Evan Thomas and Eleanor Clift spoke about A Long Time Coming: The Inspiring, Combative 2008 Campaign and the Historic Election of Barack Obama (PublicAffairs; January 6, 2009). The book is the Newsweek political team’s account of campaign 2008 and the election of Barack Obama. This event took place the day after the Inauguration of President Barack Obama. Mr. Thomas and Ms. Clift responded to questions from the audience following their remarks.

Evan Thomas is Editor-at-Large of Newsweek Magazine and a longtime panelist on syndicated talk show “Inside Washington.” He is also author of Sea of Thunder, and the grandson of six-time Socialist Party presidential candidate Norman Thomas.
