Members of public policy and law enforcement organizations spoke in a forum on racial issues involved in the nation’s drug laws. The panelists discussed relative levels of arrests and prosecutions for drug law violations in the white and black American populations, and debated means for explaining the much higher rate of drug prosecutions in the black community. The speakers responded to questions from members of the audience following their prepared remarks.
