William Eskridge, Jr. talked about his book, Dishonorable Passions: Sodomy Laws in America (Viking Adult). In the book Mr. Eskridge recounts the creation of sodomy laws in America and their use after 1900 to persecute homosexuals. He presents the attempts made to overturn the laws and the eventual Supreme Court case, Lawrence v. Texas (2003), that ended sodomy laws. Following his speech, he responded to questions from the audience. William Eskridge, Jr. is a law professor at Yale Law School. He is the author of several books, including Gaylaw: Challenging the Apartheid of the Closet.
