John Dower talked about his book, Embracing Defeat: Japan in the Wake of World War II, published by W.W. Norton and Company. The book tells how U.S. armed forces transformed imperial Japan during its six-year occupation. It concentrated on the political changes during the period. Professor Dower responded to questions from members of the audience.
