Senate Armed Services Committee Chair Carl Levin briefed reporters about the findings of a year-long committee investigation into the operations of some private security contractors in Afghanistan. The committee report contends that some contractors have paid and armed Afghan warlords and strongmen to provide security for various sites or activities around the country, and that some of those security forces have in turn worked against and even killed coalition and Afghan forces. close
