British Conservative Party Leader Michael Howard spoke about political correctness. Mr. Howard noted that many examples of political correctness are innocuous and even humorous, but described others as a “wholesale assault on common sense.” He supported his contention with extreme anecdotal examples.

He criticized the current Labour government for excessive regulation and bureaucracy. He argued that the problems with civil service in Britain are related to political correctness.
