Terry Hamilton introduced Peter Hankwitz who introduced former governor Christine Whitman. Whitman spoke on the roles of women and homosexuals in the Republican Party. She said that the in the status quo, the Republican Party was not aligned on social issues with these groups and that it needed to alter its party platform and overall mindset in order to remain competitive in elections. She argued that the Republican Party needed to become more diverse and accepting of people.
