Stephen Hawking and others spoke about the future of space exploration as part of a lecture series to mark the 50th anniversary of NASA. In his remarks titled “Why we should go into space,” he addressed the scientific and social benefits of manned space programs, the educational benefits of the space program, and knowledge gained from past endeavors in space.
