Before an audience at Vanderbilt University, the candidates debated many issues, including negative campaign ads, Iraq, the economy, taxes, and the federal and state budgets. The debate was co-moderated by Mr. Clark and Ms. De la Cruz. The candidates responded to questions from the co-moderators and each other.
