Mr. Walters talked about his book, White Nationalism, Black Interests: Conservative Public Policy and the Black Community, published by Wayne State University Press. In the book, the author argues that the conservative movement in America promotes policies that serve white interests at the expense of blacks and other minorities. Mr. Walters also discussed his reasons for writing the book, commented on the policies of presidents Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton, and talked about the work of author Nathan Glazer. Following prepared remarks, the author responded to questions from the audience.
