Committee members heard testimony from Betsey Wright, Chief of Staff to Former Governor Clinton (1983-90), a longtime aide of President Bill Clinton, concerning her knowledge of the relationship between Governor Clinton and James McDougal, owner of Madison Guaranty Savings and Loan. They also questioned her about allegations made by witnesses in the previous day’s hearing that Governor Clinton paid back contributors to his campaign with various political favors. The entire session was highly acrimonious. close
