In remarks to the Atlantic Council, General George Casey spoke about challenges facing the Army in the 21st century. He also addressed more immediate challenges in Iraq and Afghanistan, including potential lengths of commitment to the regions. In an answer to a question from the audience about recent threats from North Korea, he also said that the U.S. was prepared to fight a war in Korea if necessary although it would take some time to "switch gears" from efforts to combat terrorists and insurgencies.
