Often senators come to the floor to give tributes to friends, soldiers, fellow senators, and prominent individuals. Senator Al Franken (D-MN) recently eulogized his life-long friend, fellow writer and comedian, and Saturday Night Live contributor. This eulogy is touching, heartfelt, and humorous.     Senator Franken’s moving tribute brought tears of loss, and tears of laughter — especially Tom’s words: “Dead people are people too.”

    My thoughts are with Tom’s family and close friends.
