Senator Jim DeMint, South Carolina

December 6, 2012

Senator Jim DeMint (R-SC) is in the news this week as he announced his decision to resign from the Senate to become head of the conservative think tank, the Heritage Foundation. On his bio page in the C-SPAN Video Library you can find 434 appearances including those from his three terms in the U.S. House. In this 1999 interview, as he began his Senate term, he talks about his life and career.

A search of the Heritage Foundation turns up 579 programs including one of the earliest programs in the archive from 1980. This program features conservative thinker, Russell Kirk. Russell Kirk was also featured in 2002 C-SPAN American Writers series.

Senator DeMint would replace Ed Feulner, president of the Heritage Foundation, who is retiring in January.
