INF Treaty Signing, December 1987

December 7, 2012

Twenty-five years ago this week Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev visited Washington and signed the INF treaty with President Ronald Reagan. C-SPAN is covering an event from the American Foreign Service Association looking back on the treaty. Now with the C-SPAN Video Library, everyone has access to the primary events surrounding Gorbachev’s visit. Over three days, December 7 through December 10, 1987, C-SPAN covered 38 events featuring Gorbachev, Reagan, and their spokespersons including the treaty signing, joint briefings of the press assistants, and Gorbachev meeting with U.S. publishing representatives. You can see these events through this search and relive the events of this important period yourself.

As we like to say, the C-SPAN Video Library is where “History is recorded every day.”
