State of the Union Addresses

January 20, 2011

State of the Union addresses are an annual activity on Capitol Hill and one that C-SPAN covers in their entirety. The C-SPAN Video Library contains State of the Union addresses going back to 1984. In anticipation of this year’s State of the Union address, we thought you might want to see some of the past addresses, the responses, and related programming. You can find this programming collected on this page. There is a calendar on the page that will enable you to zero in on a particular year of interest. Enjoy a walk down the past.

  • I cannot find the time of the upcoming State of the Union address on your site. YOu give the date but you don’t say at what time.

  • A great speech with good substance.
We are with you, love, and pray for you, Mr. President.

  • I support the Presidents vision, he will get it right, exemplify his leadership abilities and lead the America people out of this economic mess. More importantly, he has a clear understanding of what is required to move America forward. I believe that innovation is in fact key the short and long term resolution to America standing on the world stage. We must be able to compete with the rest of the world and lead in education, health care and innovation, as the President has so indicated. I trust and believe our President will get things done in the areas most important to this generation and the future of our children and grandchildren.
